Challenge

In September 2025, the building, with its timber structure and cladding, began showing signs of structural deformation caused by a termite infestation in the solid timber members near ground level, which soon spread to every other area of the building's façade. As the building plays a key role in the resort's operation, the challenge was to plan an intervention that would restore its structural stability and repair all affected areas, all within a timeframe of just over 4 months. The building was ultimately rebuilt in full, and as part of the intervention we gave both its layout and its image a facelift, adding a touch more sophistication to the natural character that timber continues to lend its identity.
